📅 Ok. So. Video n°6 of the Ori series is kinda done, I just have to add the AE compositions (they're all done, I just wait until I want to export since I can't really have AE and Premiere both running, at least not for too long).

Video n°5 (the one I'm supposed to publish first ahem) is finally on its way, I think the issue is that I didn't think my series would actually be that long and this one felt weaker and not that interesting compared to the last video (which is 'leitmotifs galore').

I've been starting recording and editing though, I just have two parts that still feel meh, so, working on them. Silver lining: both videos will be available almost at the same time (a couple days apart)!

As much as I love this soundtrack I just wanna be done with this series honestly, I really want to move on a bit to other analyses (Chants of Sennaar and Dome Keeper are the games coming next, then Little Nightmares II and, new video scheduled, DON'T NOD's wonderful Jusant!)

(The whole process has been a bit slower too, I shouldn't have focused on one soundtrack for that long: I can't be exhaustive anyway and I'm at that point where it sounds like all the leitmotifs merge into one 🤣)
Anyway, see you soon (and take care) 👋 !

📖 Since I've been working on my Dome Keeper (Bippinbits & @cameronpaxton.bsky.social) and Chants of Sennaar (Rundisc & @thomasbrunet.bsky.social) scripts, I'll share the plan of my upcoming videos, as I often do (apologies for the bluesky/X double posts for the mentions) ⏬

The Dome Keeper video will be centered on its discreet poetry and delicate narration, how each element seems to have its positive or negative counterpart in the strange mission, sometimes laborious, sometimes spectacular, of a solitary and hard-working keeper ⏬

Then how Cameron Paxton's ost reveals what's hidden, a sonic depth that acts as both a physical depth in a 2D game and a psychological one, allowing us to connect with the supposedly anonymous keepers in a different way for each of them ⏬

For Chants of Sennaar, I'll first focus on humility (through the playable character mostly but not only) and how the devs' need for efficiency was turned into a strength, emphasizing the clarity needed since it's all about deciphering, decoding ⏬

The importance of hierarchy and how the kid always brings a form of joyful disorder in a codified world, turning the orders of the devotees ("Help Me!") into something instinctive ("Catch Me!"), that you can also feel in the music ⏬

Then narration, through the different languages and other elements (the bards are quite interesting). And other things of course but I can't reveal everything! ⏬

I won't do a separate part about Thomas Brunet's music, I'll try and include the ost analysis in each part so that it feels a bit more organic (not like the 50-minute rambling about the colossi's musics in the SotC video 😬 it was a bit too much) ⏬

I'd like and try to publish both videos in December – slow process since I still have two videos to do before those... In the meantime you can check my channel! (*cough* YT doesn't help tiny creators *cough*) ⏹

📅 Update time!
As you might know, the 2 next videos will close my Ori series: both dedicated to narration with the last one focusing on leitmotifs so we'll end with fireworks :p (and probably no one watching but, oh well) ⏬

Right now, I've started working on my analysis of Tarsier Studios' Little Nightmares II, I'm still working out the plan but I think I'll really enjoy writing the script because that franchise is a delight to analyze ⏬

I'll also make a video focused on both soundtracks by Tobias Lilja, but probably not right after the LN II video. Or maybe I'll wait for LN III but I'm really not sure (I actually have no idea if I should wait for LN III) ⏬

I've also started working on other scripts in order to make shorter videos (20 to 40 minutes I'd say), first with Dome Keeper, very enjoyable to watch and play, but with also quite some depth on an artistic level (and both soundtracks by Cameron Paxton are *chef's kiss*) ⏬

I'll also do a video on Rundisc's Chants of Sennaar, which was a fantastic experience (adding my voice to the deserved praises!), on a very elegant score by Thomas Brunet (my flutist's heart was extremely pleased 🎶) ⏬

Game n°3 will be Spiritfarer (by Thunderlotus & Max LL). Which means I'll have to play it again, which will involve tears obviously. But also more of Daffodil and that is a nice thing ⏬

I say those videos should be shorter but the more I listen to Spiritfarer's OST, the more I want to write about it so maybe it'll end up being a movie as usual ⏬

Not sure about the order but the videos after ending the Ori series should be those 5 ones, with maybe in-between a video on Celeste. And many other ideas that I have ⏬

I won't lie, while I truly love analyzing games and soundtracks, the channel is so slow to grow that I always end up a bit disheartened after publishing them. Well, YouTube's law, as I sometimes say. Anyway, see you soon and take care ⏹
