Warning: very long political post.

I feel like I should elaborate on my last post. I've been pretty left wing (for American standards anyways) for years, but the blatant greed that been seeping into every little crevice of this country, art, and the internet at large, is really starting to radicalize me.

The Unity situation is only the tip of the iceberg. Just earlier this year, WOTC was pulling the same shit with Dungeons & Dragons. You have every tech company under the sun trying to pull bait and switches with MLM-like crypto scams, locking down their services and upping the price, or going all in on AI that no one wants just for some sweet sweet venture capital. Not to mention the fact that basically every company posted record profits since the pandemic while upping the prices on everything and getting rid of workers. All the while everything is bought up by the large megacorporations ruining everything as they choke out small businesses and the working class.

And it's all become so visible too, especially the blatant corruption. Just look at the shit surrounding Clarence Thompson, or all the big corporations backing far right think tanks that want to distract the public on the culture war so that they can remain in power by any means necessary. Project 2025 is fucking scary, and will make this country a genocidal authoritarian ultra-capitalist dystopia if it ever comes to fruition.

At the very least, we should heavily regulate companies so they never get this big again. Get some of that FDR anti-trust attitude back in this country, and implement industry regulations similar and better than the EU so that workers and customers are properly protected. We also need to regulate the stock market and public companies, because the mindset of never ending growth that they develop has been nothing but terrible for this country for the last few decades. We also need to cut out as much parasitic middlemen as possible from our system, most blatantly by having Medicare-for-All and a massive increase in quality government owned housing.

Now you may ask "but how will we pay for this?" Well, not pouring hundreds of billions of dollars on military spending while we spend more than every other country COMBINED would be a start. Or maybe not having extremely lenient taxes on the rich and corporations. Maybe there should be a wealth cap so we don't have sycophant multi-billionaires buying up and ruining everything we have left (*cough cough* Elon Musk *cough cough*).

Maybe there should be a wealth cap so we don't have sycophant multi-billionaires buying up and ruining everything we have left (\*cough cough\* Elon Musk \*cough cough\*).</source:markdown>
