He let the question weigh in the air, everyone in the room knew it was rhetorical, but Lenny was trying to make a point to Mitchell, who sat in a wooden chair on the other side of Lenny's desk. Mitchell's back was to the door and two of Lenny's employees stood at either side of it like royal guards in front of the castle; stoic and vigilant. With the sweat pouring out of Mitchell soaking his shirt beneath his coat, Lenny continued.

"Of course I don't! I get the money I loan people from my employer. I get this money with the understanding that the people borrowing it realize I'm not the person they're indebted too. So I'm going to ask you, Mitchell, did you realize when you borrowed that money who you'd be indebted too?"

What Lenny was making sure Mitchell understood was that he was indebted to Gorge Malone, a man rumored to be the head of what amounted to the local Mafia. Malone was said to have been the end to hundreds of lives, if not thousands, and the long time tormentor of many more. The way the rumors went, Malone had his hands, and money, in so many of the city's inner workings that no one dared take him down for fear that he'd take everything down with him. If you crossed Malone, there wasn't anyone you could turn to who wouldn't hand you right over to him. Mitchell hadn't had to use the restroom when he came in here but with as far as his stomach had fallen he felt like he could shit himself then and there.

Okay so this is a test post to see if this thread writer thing works so I can do these stream of consciousness stories dumps easier in the future. If it doesn't, oh well, it wasn't \*that\* difficult to do it all on my own but still, it would be nice to not have to #SINTech
