The psychology of some people is fascinating. It doesn't take long to find the right information to verify if what any high profile, public figures are claiming, is true. No doubt, were I to challenge any of the 'hard of thinking' over their 'beliefs' of what they're told by people like Farage, Jenrick, Badenough or Philp, those people would say they don't have time to investigate such claims.

It really isn't difficult to find the relevant information to verify claims by politicians and other 'influencers', if one wants to. Alternatively, one can continue to exhibit a complete lack of political acuity, while pretending to be fully engaged in the political process.

GDP data out today from ONS. Main points: 🧵

Monthly real gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to have grown by 0.5% in February 2025, with growths in all main sectors, following January 2025 which showed no growth (revised up from a fall of 0.1% in our previous publication).

Real GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.6% in the three months to February 2025, compared with the three months to November 2024, mainly because of growth in the services sector.

Monthly services output grew by 0.3% in February 2025, following unrevised growth of 0.1% in January 2025, and grew by 0.6% in the three months to February 2025.

Production output grew by 1.5% in February 2025, following a fall of 0.5% in January 2025 (revised up from a 0.9% fall in our previous publication), and grew by 0.7% in the three months to February 2025, with manufacturing output driving the monthly and three-month growths.

Construction output grew by 0.4% in February 2025, following a fall of 0.3% in January 2025 (revised down from a fall of 0.2% in our previous publication), but showed no growth in the three months to February 2025.

I might be miles wide of the mark here; but, I don't quite understand why Starmer and the UKG are getting their arses in their hands over Trump's 25% tariff on cars. 🧵

If any Septics can afford $150,000 for a Range Rover, they're unlikely to be put off by a price rise to $187,500. Were UK car exports to US, not of cars of such prestige marques as Jaguar Land Rover, but more mass market, like a Ford or Peugeot, I could understand it.

Given situations like this, why tf is Starmer walking on egg shells, trying not to upset Trump, trying to secure some pathetic deal with the Septics, that would be more beneficial for them than for UK; instead of trying to get a REALLY workable relationship with EU?

Prestige cars and scotch whisky are not going to be the UK's trade saviours with the US.

While it is commendable to seek to improve the services trade surplus the UK enjoys through digital etc, I should have it would be wise to recognise that with such a poor production sector, the UK is unlikely to gain major inroads to US with goods exports.

Starmer needs to wake up!

In another example of my examining the bucchal part of my mouth*, I guess one of the options open in the RU-UA war, after #Krasnov suggested that Pres. Zelenskyy should hand over the nuclear power plant(s) to the US, would be for Pres. Macron to open a dialogue with Pres. Zelenskyy, for France to take on 'ownership' of it/them (* tongue in cheek😉)

If #Krasnov's logic is that in the hands of the US, his boss Putin wouldn't attack the power plant(s); then if it/they were in the hands of FR, logically, Putin would be unlikely to attack the plant(s), unless he *wanted* to elicit a NATO response under the terms of Article 5 of the NATO treaty. Of course, in the hands of FR, the power plants are very unlikely to be handed over to Putin, which may not be true, were they to be in the hands of #Krasnov / US.

In terms of the dialogue between #Krasnov and President Zelenskyy, given the latter's agreement to an unconditional ceasefire, I eagerly await what drivel is going to come from Komrade Krasnov's mouth. It wouldn't surprise me if he expects Zelenskyy to compromise substantially, w/o acknowledging Putin's refusal to agree to an unconditional cease fire… just further confirmation that Trump is 'Putin's man in Washington'.

Having watched the video of Rubio speaking in 2014, it is no surprise that Shady Vance tried to suppress Zelenskyy raising the history of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, lest the full extent of the obligations of US (and UK) were to be laid bare on Septic television. This is so weird. I’ve looked through UN Treaty I-52241 a couple of times — that's the Budapest Memorandum, to you and me, and I cannot find any date upon which the treaty ceases to apply. It's no wonder that #TrumpleThinSkin and #VacantVance immediately sought to close down President Zelenskyy, amid the accusation from Vance that Zelenskyy was (re)litigating history. Clearly these particular Septics don't like being reminded of history/facts and their country's swift abrogation of its responsibilities required by this particular UN treaty.

In my view two crucial things were clear: the Septics know they are wrong not to be providing security guarantees to Ukraine — irrespective which of Trumpski's predecessors signed the treaty, as the orange shitgibbon implied; the treaty's provisions are still applicable.

The second thing that was clear to me is that, if the Septics didn't want the truth to be spoken to them in publc, they shouldn't have tried to play the bigshots in front of their fucktard base, by allowing very partisan media to cover the proceedings, live.

Talk about ten gallon hats and half-pint brains… the world was given front row seats to watch their abject ineptitude and their sucking up to Putin. The entire shower of #Republicans are a bunch of fucking #RichardCraniums.

What struck me when Pres. Zelenskyy began his response to Vance, was his recapping the history of Putin's invasion in 2014 in Crimea and subsequent expansion into Donbas. Trump's / Krasnov's immediate response was that he wasn't around in 2014.

If the orange shitgibbon knew the history and learned some fucking humility, he would understand that despite his absence from the political stage at that time, as one of the signatories of the Budapest Memorandum in 1994, the US (alongside the UK) agreed to guarantee the security of Ukraine, after it relinquished its nuclear arsenal. If anybody was being disrespected, it was Pres. Zelenskyy after Trump had the bare face gall to abdicate the US from any responsibility for Ukraine's security and sovereignty. IMO, the US and the UK are in debt to Ukraine for >11 years security guarantees, never mind Trump trying to retrieve the costs of supplying Ukraine with military aid since 2022, through a mineral extraction deal. In my mind, not enough is being made of Obama's and Camoron's complete absence of responsibilities, which has continued for more than a decade, while the third principal signatory 'made hay' with impunity. While Trump / Vance accuse Pres. Zelenskky of disrespect, to my mind he couldn't go far enough in reminding the US, before being shut down completely.

Following receipt of a mailing list message from EveryDoctor organisation (@jujuliagrace.bsky.social); I was particularly concerned to read about the association of FGS Global (UK) Ltd, (lobbying on behalf of Optum UK) – a data analytics subsidiary of US 'health care' business UnitedHealth Group, with none other than Rachel Reeves and the wider Labour Party. It appears she has benefitted to the tune of nearly £13,000 in terms of cash donations, as well as >£17,000 benefits in kind, by way of staff provision.

…and the Labour Party claim that the NHS is safe in its hands. Not by my reckoning, judging by news mentioned above and Streeting's previous declarations on it!

Ohh! That's weird, Alex Burghart, (Shadow Chancellor of Duchy of Lancaster) thinks that pay settlements made to public sector workers (not their unions Alex) are inflationary. Last time I checked, public sector workers like teachers, nurses, doctors, et al, did not provide output that had a consumer price attached to it, that contributed to the CPI… consumer price index.

Unsurprisingly, Mel Stride (Shadow Chancellor) made similar assertions in an interview with (I think) Rob Powell of Sky News and the alarming thing is that the interviewer made no attempt to correct the erroneous comments from Stride.
